elizabeth_lily_zelda.jpg In December 2007, we lost our beloved Zoe to bone cancer.  Zelda would go to the door and cry for her sister dog and we all had some difficult days.  With heavy hearts and a box of tissues, we once again headed out to Baypath but it was just too soon.  A couple of weeks went by and we tried it again.  This time,  we were thrilled to meet Missy Vail, a beautiful young white lab mix.  We renamed her Lily as she is the color of Calla and Easter lilies and brought her home to meet Zelda.  Zelda, now fifteen years old, instantly became younger with the introduction of one-year-old Lily.  Lily adapted quickly to our family and Zelda was happy to have a new sister dog in her life.  Sometimes though, Lily was a little too playful for the elderly and arthritic Zelda.

In July, we decided to bring Lily to Baypath to walk some dogs with her for a little socialization.  Before we left the house, Warren mentioned we would not be bringing home another dog as the house was full.  As soon as we drove into the parking lot, we saw Elizabeth Arden.

She was running in her little circle in a pen with Black Dog.  We took her for a walk with Lily and the dogs seemed to bond right away.  We spent some time sitting in a pen with her and Lily and she began to feel more comfortable with us.  It’s safe to say at this point she had our attention if not yet our hearts.  We learned the history of her anxiety and fear of people and wondered if we may be able to help her because we had two dogs and her anxiety was only toward people.  To make a long story short, we brought Elizabeth home and she has blossomed.  She graduated from beginner obedience school last week and was able to socialize with 16 people on Thanksgiving.  Lily and Elizabeth enjoy playing chase, ball, wrestling and Zelda is happy because Lily is no longer trying to play with her.

Thank you for all you do.  Baypath will always have a special place in our hearts!
