2009-06-sesame-b1.jpg  I would like to let you know that Sesame (aka Addie) is doing very well since we adopted her on 5/31 about 1.5 weeks ago from Baypath.  She is playing and following my older dog (12 yr old), Java, everywhere.  It's sometimes a bit too much for Java but he enjoys Sesame's company most of the time.  My daughter and all the neighbors' kids love her.  They often spend a long time in our yard after school patting Sesame.  We are so impressed on how calm, gentle, and sweet she is with all the kids' running and hugging.  story cont. in link below!

She is house trained already and learning quite a few basic commands very quickly.  She can now do sit, down, and a little bit waiting quite well.  She also learned to heel & starts to have the concept of walking on the sidewalk rather than everywhere.  I take her to walk around the streets in the morning and in the woods near our house in the afternoon everyday.  At first she was a little bit afraid and would not even cross a small creek or would hide in the bushes when a car was approaching.  But now, she is jumping over the creek and feeling more comfortable with moving cars. She also has some fear about stairs.  We started with the 3 steps of stairs in the garage.  She is feeling quite comfortable with those now.  We are introducing different terrains to her slowly so that she can be less skittish.  The other day, she had her first swim with Java.  She is not comfortable being in the water yet.  Java helps a lot in teaching her and building confidence in her.

Her favorite activities with us are getting treats, jumping on Java, and running in the yard at lightening speed in big circles, just like a cattle dog.

I want to thank you again for doing such a great job in placing dogs and cats to the right homes.
