Dear Baypath: This is long overdue. Just had to thank you SO MUCH for our beloved doggie - Shadow. My big question: how did you know???? When we came to Baypath, I hadn't even filled out the application, but somehow you knew that Shadow and our family would be a perfect match. You (specifically Tricia and Erin) steered us right to him, and then, well, he worked his own magic on us. He is the perfect dog for our family! Actually, we think he is just the perfect dog. Our neighbors and friends think so too. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but after 3.5 weeks in our family he is still the sweetest canine we've ever met, and he has already brought so much joy to our family. story con't below!
An added benefit: as my mother has suffered so many losses over the past few years, it's great to see the way she lights up whenever Shadow is around her. They spend lots of cuddle-time together on her couch. She's like a new person. I don't know if Shadow has lost any weight yet, but he sure has been active! In his first week with us he went for long walks (including 1 along the Cape Cod Canal), a hike through conservation land, a walk on the beach, a dip in a lake, a dog park, jogging, and lots and lots of play time. Now that school has started, he regularly goes to soccer, ballet, school carpool, school bus stop (he's a huge hit there!) and this weekend he'll attend his first football game. Last night we started an obedience class (actually, it's for us, not him!). Once "we" master the obedience we would like to look into agility training with him.
Did you know how high he can jump? He's a smart, strong dog and I think agility is right up his alley. Thus far we've been able to keep the dog and guinea pig unknown to each other, so no issues there. Fingers crossed. Again, thank you all so much for Shadow. You took such good care of him while he was with you and we really appreciate all the staff's assistance with his adoption. We have been recommending Baypath to others, as it was recommended to us. God bless you in all your good work.
Sincerely, Linda and Family
