Foster Parents for Pregnant Cats/Kittens Always Needed Print E-mail

Each year the shelter takes in approximately 30-40 stray pregnant mom cats, and hundreds of kittens too young to be put up for adoption. Unfortunately, the shelter does not have the space to house these mothers and kittens until they are ready for adoption. Baypath is committed to helping these animals out. We are, therefore, asking you to help us out. Depending on the age of the kittens this could be a three month committment. You will not be disappointed. This is a fabulous experience and a huge help to a small shelter like Baypath.

We are looking for loving people who are willing to take a pregnant mom into their home where she can have her kittens in the comfort of a soft bed, socialize with the kittens until they are 10-12 weeks old, and provide mom with some TLC until she can come into the shelter, get spayed, and then be put up for adoption.

We also need foster parents who are willing to take in underage kittens until they are 10-12 weeks old. We also take in a lot of young feral kittens (kittens born outside who are totally afraid of humans) and need foster parents to work with these kittens to socialize them. All moms are tested and vaccinated before being placed in a foster home. If you are interested in being a Baypath foster parent, please call the shelter at 508-435-6938.
