I wanted to let you know how our little cat Peter is doing. My husband and I adopted him from Baypath in January of 2005.
Petey had a HUGE set of shoes -- paws -- to fill. In March of 2004, we had to put down our beloved old cat after having adored him for 16 years. It was a total shock for us. We had brought him to the vet for his annual checkup, having no idea that there was anything wrong with him. He had severe kidney problems and we had to euthanize him almost immediately. He was the light of our lives, the third member of our family (a friend, not like a child at all), and we were devastated.
Later that year, we moved to a big house that soon seemed empty without a feline presence. I did a lot of research on petfinder.com and found Baypath, so we decided to try adopting another cat. Petey was the first cat we met at Baypath, and when I took him in my arms, he clung to me, purred loudly, and tried to bury his head in my armpit (a habit which prevails to this day whenever he wants to cuddle).
Petey is an absolutely gorgeous guy, and has become the subject of many, many photos by my husband (the attached being only one of hundreds). He has the most beautiful markings, my favorites being the small black polka-dots on his white ear.
We are happy to be able to provide him with all the love and joy an indoor kitty can experience. He has many favorite perches around the house, some designed by me and some picked out by him, where he can look out the windows at all kinds of birds, insects, dogs and dog owners walking by, and the occasional woodchuck or even wild turkey.
He is a sweetheart, and I am happiest curled up with a good book and Petey snuggled up beside me.
Thank you for helping us to adopt this sweet little cat. We love him dearly.
All best,Catherine Carter
