I'm
the sweet petite tuxedo kitty who tap dances on soft surfaces. I stayed
with you in the shelter last August until my new people found me. I was
adopted on August 21, 2005, and I wanted to give you an update to let
you know I'm doing fine and to say thanks for uniting me with my new
mom and dad!
Remember me? When I moved into my new house, I was very scared and shy. Mom was worried I was depressed and anti-social, but it just takes me awhile to trust new people. At first I hid behind furniture and under the bed. I didn't let Dad and Mom hold me and pet me. After a few months, I got more comfortable and came out of my shell. I still am a scaredy-cat. I'm very bashful around people other than my Dad & Mom. Mom says I am the most well-behaved kitty she has ever known. I have never scratched, bitten, or hissed. I only use my super scratcher. I never scratch the furniture. I'm not mischevious at all; I don't do any naughty things. I am strictly forbidden to go outside and that's just fine with me. I've been out there and I don't want to go back. I have never tried to sneak out. When I first moved in, I ate a lot of food. I had treats and wet and dry food and it was all very delicious. It didn't take long for me to gain a lot of weight. I gained so much that I had to switch from my rich and fattening food to Purina Indoor Cat Chow. It must be low fat or low carb or something since I've since slimmed down. Mom is right! It's hard to stay thin! Mom and Dad think I am more like a dog than a cat. I am always waiting at the door when they come home from work. This is so I can have my belly scratched immediately or else I cry. I come when I am called, and I follow my people around the house. I even follow them into the bathroom! One time I followed my mom into the shower. I never did that again! I love to be around them and I am kind of sad when they are at work for the day. Every day, I play with my Dad. He gives me lots of toys. We play with my toy mice, or sometimes chess. I love my chess pieces! They weren't originally mine, but I found them and took them one by one. Mom and Dad tried to take them back, but I wanted them more, and now they are mine. I do like to play, but I spend most of my time lounging around and sleeping, or cuddling on laps. I prefer to sleep on the foot of the bed when no one is there. When my mom comes to bed, I sleep really close, as close to her face as possible. Recently I started sleeping on her face, her chest, or in her hair, but I had to stop doing that 'cause Mom couldn't breathe and I was waking her up with my purrs. What can I say? I am very loving and affectionate! I guess I've really earned my name: "Godiva, sweet as chocolate." Love, Godiva (and Meaghan Rice, her mom)
